Dr. Rachel Hansen is a NYS licensed Optometrist. She graduated from Cornell University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry (UABSO) in 2001. Upon her graduation from UABSO she was the recipient of a Beta Sigma Kappa Medal for academic achievement and received the Jess Boyd Eskridge Clinical Excellence Award. She also received awards for her clinical excellence in both soft and rigid contact lens fitting as well as the VSP Excellence in Primary Care award. Dr. Hansen's optometric training included externships with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tuscaloosa, AL, Vision America multispecialty clinic in Birmingham, AL, and with Eye Care Associates in Birmingham, AL. Prior to returning to practice in her hometown of Oneonta, New York, Dr. Hansen worked both as an Optometrist in private practice in Birmingham as well as an optometric research assistant at UABSO.

Our Optometrist
Dr. Rachel W. Hansen
Doctor Hansen is licensed to practice in New York State and is certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment and management of ocular disease. Her specialties include primary care optometry, contact lenses, and vision therapy. In addition to her career as an Optometrist, Dr. Hansen is a member of several community musical organizations and is active with her church.

Eric P. Hansen
Eric P. Hansen is a NYS licensed Optician. Eric graduated from Mater Dei College in 1994 with a degree in Ophthalmic Dispensing. Having almost twenty years of experience in the Optical field, Eric is highly skilled at frame selection, lens fittings and frame adjustment and repair. He specializes in spectacle fitting for infants, having worked for several years with a pediatric ophthalmologist. Eric is an avid golfer and a member of the Board of the Oneonta Country Club. He is also a past Board member of the Oneonta Soccer Club.

G. Peter Hansen
G. Peter Hansen is also a NYS licensed Optician. Peter was the original owner of Oneonta Optical Center and helped build the practice into what it is today. Peter is past-President of the Oneonta Country Club and is currently on the Board. He is a member of the Oneonta Elks and a former member of the Oneonta Kiwanis Club.
